Genevieve is Four!

We had a great week celebrating Genevieve's 4th birthday! On her actual birthday on Tuesday, I brought cupcakes to her classroom. She was very proud to have the class sing happy birthday to her and to have me there. After school, Nev and I met Chad at Roaring Rapids Pizza for lunch, games and a carousel ride. In the evening, with soccer practices cancelled due to snow (just like when Nev was born), we all met Chad's mom and Auntie Carrie for dinner at BJ's. Finally, at home Nev got her big surprise: a Barbie bicycle! She was very cute opening all her gifts, saying, in a loud and genuine voice, "This is what I ALWAYS wanted! Thank you!" On Friday evening we had a party for Nev and Selene with our families. Nev, once again, excitedly opened her gifts and declared each was what she always wanted! She and her cousins played and played and had a great time. She was most excited about her Rapunzel princess dresses and hair!

Stats on our four year old: Height 41 inches, Weight: 39 lbs.

School: Nev likes school once she's there but would rather stay with me. She likes books but isn't too into her letters or numbers. She just recently started coloring a lot more and in the past week wrote the letter "G" as well as a few more letters. She can recognize some letters but not many sounds. She can count to 20 but often makes a couple mistakes (she's just not that interested in these things yet).  Her teachers say she is a good listener and a good student. Her best friend at school is Libby and Nev is sad any day Libby is not at school. They are pretty cute together and have really bonded!

Personality: Nev has lots of personality! She is spunky, pretty opinionated, loves to jump around and dance and skip, she is so much fun and so full of life and love. She loves to snuggle with us but also always loves to squeeze between Chad and me whenever we hug or kiss. Nev is pretty good about sharing if we talk about it ahead of time. She sometimes talks more like an 11 year old than a 4 year old and knows (and animatedly sings) all the words to a lot of songs by 'One Direction', 'Taylor Swift' and others.  Nev has definite opinions about the clothes she wears; she wears summer clothes all year long and doesn't like pants or socks much.

Playtime: Nev loves playing with her stuffed animals, Barbies, Polly Pockets, Disney princesses and doctor toys. She tells me she wants to do a gymnastics class and play soccer. We have held off signing her up for anything organized yet but soon I'm sure she will join in these and other activities.

We Love Our Sweet Genevieve So VERY Much!! She really completed our family and are so blessed to have her as our daughter!
