Genevieve's Friend-Birthday Party

Early in January, Genevieve and nine of her Pre-K classmates celebrated Genevieve's birthday with treats and gifts at the frozen yogurt shop and then the movie 'Frozen'! They were all so excited for the movie even though most had seen it once already! Genevieve loved that all of her besties came and was super proud celebrating her special day. Chad and I were super proud of ourselves that we pulled off a friend-party for Nev (although it was a couple weeks late) and it wasn't too tough :) Luckily, Gabrielle and Cade helped Chad and me out supervising the kids! Such a nice group of kids in Nev's class!

Coed Indoor Soccer!

I have played coed indoor soccer with the Darigold (formerly Koffler Boats) team, that James now organizes, for almost 15 years but, it is rare we get a picture. We took this one because it was the last game my nephew Roman would play with us for a long while as he was heading into the Marines. It is also special to me because it's the first team picture with Cade in it as he has joined our team. It doesn't seem long ago Cade was a one year old running around Kick City while Chad and I played game after game! I also love the team and this picture because so many of my family members play on this team with nieces, nephews, siblings, in-laws and now our kids having played on it! So fun and so many memories. This picture has seven family members (and that is without my brother Marcus, who wasn't at Roman's last game.)

Amber & Family Visit

Scenes from Amber, Tony and kids' visit during Christmas Break. Always an adventure that our kids LOVE and I so enjoy...

Happy 2014!

We had another fun, game-filled, loud and family & friend-full New Year's Eve at Opa and Kathleen's house. Amber and I arrived at about 5:00 pm to prepare the food and festivities. Friends and family started arriving soon after. We were so lucky Kathleen took on the Dutch tradition of making ollie bollen this year and they were amazingly yummy! There was a Texas Hold 'Em table going most of the night. And, a large group of us kids and adults had a ton of fun playing 'Catch Phrase' for a couple hours. The kids also played some Wii Dance downstairs. There was, of-course, also sports going on the TV most of the evening. It was so nice Kendall, Jake and kids joined us as well as Olaf & Korrina and kids plus Keith, Sheri, Lucia, Brandy and Kennedy. The older kids were there early in the evening but many left for parties and gatherings in town around 10 pm, it'll be strange when our kids start doing that! The evening concluded with pot and pan banging at the strike of midnight. After cleaning up, we called it a night at around 1:30 am, a little earlier than some years but it was perfect by me :) Happy 2014 to all!
