Anniversary Weekend in Vegas!

Mid-June Chad and I got away for a long weekend in Las Vegas in celebration of our 20th Wedding Anniversary coming up later this summer. Despite flight troubles that delayed our vacation a day, we had a fabulous time relaxing, watching World Cup soccer, lounging by the pool, sleeping in, working out, eating out, playing a little black jack, taking walks, catching a late movie and just enjoying some alone time together! It was fabulous and far too short! We decided we should do this at least once a year for our next 20 years!!

On the last afternoon, before flying back home, we got to visit with Cheryl and Troy who just flew into Vegas the evening prior for Cheryl's NPFL event

Coming home to these kiddos does make it a little easier to leave a taste of paradise....

Spring Soccer and State Cup

With so many soccer games and pictures, I have procrastinated completing this post for a while but it is always fun for the kids (and me) to look back on their soccer pictures and results, so I'm glad to finally get this one done (and before I have too many summer tournament pictures to blog!) First, here's a quick summary of each kids' season and then some pictures from Cade, Elle and Will's Winter/Spring season and State/President's Cup games:

Cade: 
Team: ETFC U16 Boca Jr. Black
Position: primarily forward but started to play a little center mid
Spring/Winter League: OYSA U16 Premier (the top state league though a couple teams were in OPL league); 5-2-3; 3rd out of 8 teams
State Cup: 4-0 in group play; lost in semi-final 1-0 to CFC (Rogue Valley won title)

Gabrielle:
Team: ETFC U3 Sol Black
Position: started season at center back but by the end of state cup was playing primarily holding center mid
Spring League: OYSA U13 Premier (the top league though some teams were in OPL league); 3-5; 7rd out of 11 teams
State Cup: 0-2-1 in group play; tie was to the eventual state cup winner Eastside Timbers Copa (losses to NEU and Westside)

Willem: 
Team: ETFC U12 Valencia Black
Position: half goalie/half forward
Spring League: OYSA U12 Division 1 (2nd state league though some teams in OPL); 2-6; 6th out of 7 teams
President's Cup: 2-2 in group play; 3rd in group of 5 so did not advance

Most games are played on nice turf fields in the winter and spring which made this muddy league game (a win) memorable!
