Willem's First Communion

We are very proud of Willem; after taking classes each Monday night for most of the school year, Willem was finally ready to celebrate his First Communion yesterday evening. He was pretty excited too :). Grandma, Grandpa, Opa, Kathleen, Auntie Carrie, EJ and Uncle Marcus joined our family at Mass, and David and James' families joined us at our house for pizza, cake and presents afterwards. It was a special evening for all of us! It's hard to believe we now have three kids who have passed this milestone.

A few other tidbits I want to remember:

*Before Mass when we were waiting to walk in with Father David, Genevieve got a little excited and said, "That's God" and pointed to Father David. Cade did the same thing to Father Steve when he was little. We, of-course, explained he was not God but just a good friend of God's :)

*Reflecting back at Cade and Elle's First Communions compared to Willem's, we realize just how much crazier our lives are now. We struggled to fit it in this weekend with a Saturday and Sunday three hour practice in Salem for Cade (thus no Sunday morning Mass), birthday parties, Chad working Saturday and Elle's practice. It ended up working out perfectly and was a great and special evening but I am pretty pooped!
