Nev Nev

Here are pictures of Nev I've taken over the past month or so. I tried to capture her doing the things she does at home on regular days while her siblings are at school. Most weekdays, she joins me at Crossfit for my 8:30 workout, then we head home and play, visit with people who come in the house related to my work (mostly my brothers and my dad :) and I try to get a little work done through it all! I think I got most of her favorite activities covered in these pics!

Genevieve has been loving dressing up and changing often; she recently got a bag of clothes from Morgan (Melissa's daughter) and absolutely loved the ballet outfits. This is so Nev, dressed up and climbing!

Must have ballet slippers with ballet dress!

I love her hair in a ponytail! Unfortunately she never keeps it in long :)

Nev ready to go outside with her daddy; matching boots optional!

Just a smiling Nev!

It was hard to take off her Dora PJ's when she first got them!

Nev loves making towers with her Mega Blocks

With Daddy!

Nev loves to paint though she actually loves to make the water all different colors most!
Some of Nev's favorite toys

Nev also loves playing Hide-And-Seek and Tag (also more of her favorite toys, Little People and Princess Polly Pockets)

Nev's favorite place to watch TV...Mom and Dad's room!

Usually when Nev watches a show, it is downstairs in our family room and she dances, sings and talks to the TV!

Nev also loves playing with water and looking at herself in the mirror!

She LOVES playing the Dora matching game

But you must play by her rules :)

Excited to play in the dusting of snow we had last week

Taking her daily nap in the car (luckily she transfers easily to the couch)

Playing in the sandbox in the rain!

Sandy hands!

I had to put this one in of her at the soccer field with two of her idols (fellow soccer siblings Savannah and Avery)!

WE LOVE YOU SWEET NEV!

Visit with Sweet LittleTucker

On January 2nd, Gabrielle and I got to spend the afternoon with my new nephew Tucker Joseph! We also got to enjoy the Duck's Rose Bowl victory with Amber, Tony, Duane and Mary. What a perfect day! Tucker was very content, loving sleeping on his own and in our arms. I loved holding him and wish I could see him more. What a perfect little boy! Nice work Duane and Mary!

Visiting Davida

Gabrielle and I got to visit Davida, Marcus and Melissa at OHSU on Monday. It was really great to see them all and especially to see them well and happy. Davida is a doll and a trooper. She seems to very content despite all the poking and prodding required. Here are a couple pictures from my visit and then a couple more from Amber's visit the day before...

Content with Mommy and Daddy

She opened her eyes a little bit for Gabrielle and me but Amber captured her so well here checking everything out :)

Her hand is looking so much better! Still no movement but there is a lot of swelling and healing still going on so there's lots of hope she will recover fully.

Getting some treatment for mild jaundice; doesn't she look content :)

Like Father Like Son?

Cade was very excited about the hats and sunglasses he and Pascal bought at their trip to the mall this weekend. I have to admit I wasn't expecting he'd spend 35 of his hard-earned dollars on these...

But then I remembered back to his dad at 16 when I met him and I shouldn't be surprised!

Chad was making some fun of Cade's ensemble and Cade went along with it and they both proceeded to 'play' a little guitar together. It was quite entertaining!

This Could Be Fun...

Amber told me about Instagram today. It's a quick photo editing app for iphones. And man is it fun! I went through pictures that were on my iphone that weren't great quality, Instagrammed them and now I want to share them! I have a feeling I'll be taking lots more pics on my iphone now!

Welcome Sweet Davida Marian!

A couple hours after birth while still at RiverBend hospital

Our beautiful niece, Davida Marian, was born Wednesday evening (January 11th) just three hours before her mommy's birthday. What an amazing birthday present she is. Davida is so precious and sweet. It is clear her mom and dad are so in love with her already. I was lucky to meet her just a couple hours after her birth but unfortunately I was not able to hold her because of some complications. Davida's umbilical cord seems to have been wrapped around her arm late in Melissa's pregnancy causing lack of blood flow (clot) in her arm which caused lesions and a real scare with the health of her arm. After a 3 am ride to OSHU in Portland with her daddy, great care from doctors and nurses, help from blood thinners and lots of love from her mom and dad, Davida is improving and hopes to be home in a couple days. I cannot wait to hold her...and lots of her cousins cannot wait either! We love you sweet Davida Marian! And we love your name and that you are named after your Oma (my mom) and your Grandma! Congratulations Marcus and Melissa!

Here are pictures Amber shared from her visit at OHSU in Portland...

Ringing in 2012!

We enjoyed another fun New Year's Eve party at my Dad and Kathleen's house complete with banging of pots and pans as the clock struck midnight! As expected, our three big kids had no trouble staying up well passed midnight. Genevieve would have made it as well had she gotten a nap in but, without her nap she was asleep in my arms at about 10:30. It was a little more mellow this year without Duane, Mary, Marcus or Melissa but we still managed to eat lots of great food, play some games (most if us anyway), chat for hours, watch the kids do a dance performance and ring in the new year. We did get a possible glimpse into the future as Cade was a little bored this year for a while which was a first on New Year's Eve; I think he wanted to go with his 18 year old cousin Roman (who left at 9:00 pm) to the parties in town! Scary! Cade missed having more of his friends and family at the party like in years' past. We will have to plan a little better next year and be sure to have a couple more of his friends there and be sure the 'teenagers' are entertained. It had always been one of Cade's favorite nights of the year and we'd like to keep it that way in the safety of Opa and Kathleen's house :) Another thanks is due to Amber for letting me borrow the collages she made for her blog post. Thanks Sis!

Notice Chad cupping Nev's ear on the left; she slept through the banging of pots and pans at midnight without even stirring!

Tucker Joseph!

We are so excited about the arrival of Duane and Mary's little boy, Tucker Joseph! He is such a perfect little baby boy, born December 27th. Gabrielle and I got to visit him on Monday and, though I do not have pictures of our visit yet (they are on Amber's camera), I wanted to post a couple that Amber shared from the hospital. Congratulations Duane and Mary and well done!
