A couple hours after birth while still at RiverBend hospital
Our beautiful niece, Davida Marian, was born Wednesday evening (January 11th) just three hours before her mommy's birthday. What an amazing birthday present she is. Davida is so precious and sweet. It is clear her mom and dad are so in love with her already. I was lucky to meet her just a couple hours after her birth but unfortunately I was not able to hold her because of some complications. Davida's umbilical cord seems to have been wrapped around her arm late in Melissa's pregnancy causing lack of blood flow (clot) in her arm which caused lesions and a real scare with the health of her arm. After a 3 am ride to OSHU in Portland with her daddy, great care from doctors and nurses, help from blood thinners and lots of love from her mom and dad, Davida is improving and hopes to be home in a couple days. I cannot wait to hold her...and lots of her cousins cannot wait either! We love you sweet Davida Marian! And we love your name and that you are named after your Oma (my mom) and your Grandma! Congratulations Marcus and Melissa!
Here are pictures Amber shared from her visit at OHSU in Portland...
