Oregon CrossFit Summer Games

August 24th and 25th I competed in the Oregon CrossFit Games with Lindsey in the female team competition along with 36 other teams. Our goal was to finish in the top 13 and we were super excited to finish Day One in 7th place with a 7th place finish in the burpee, double-under, sprint workout, 16th place in the max front squat and jerk workout (with PR's for me of 175# and 155#!), 4th in the Fran workout and 11th in the max snatch/OHS workout. Day 2 brought a workout with 100 toes to bar, 80 95# cleans, a run, 40 95# shoulder to overhead and another run. We placed 9th in that event bringing us to 8th overall which qualified us for the 10 team final Sunday afternoon. This is where the real craziness began as you can read in my Facebook post:

"First time for everything and today it was a final in a downpour, thunder and lightening...and 225# deadlifts (super heavy for me)! We managed to get through 32 of the heavy deadlifts and (almost) three 400m runs before the time cap which was enough for 10th place (out of 10!). The remaining finals were cancelled due to the lightening and rain! Still an awesome weekend and an 8th overall finish. Thanks to my awesome teammate, Lindsey, and fantastic coach, Daren, and all the ECF supporters!!!"

It was such a fun weekend, hanging out with Lindsey, Daren, Hillary and others from Eugene CrossFit as well as Kendall and her friends at CrossFit Intensify. Kendall and Caitlin won the female team competition, winning all but one event! Looking forward to competing again next year but hoping for two full days of sunshine :)

With Coach Daren!

Rain and cooler weather came on fast Sunday afternoon!

A couple pictures from our gym/box at home were we prepared for the weekend. That's my 'sweat angel' on the left :)
While I was competing, Chad took the boys camping and hunting. Here are a few pictures of their trip including a couple of the boys showing how proud they were of me doing well in the competition :)......

No, Willem did not sleep on the cooler, he was just not into having his picture taken!
