Yesterday was such a great day. So many of our family and friends gathered to watch Cade and 27 of his classmates graduate from St. Paul School after nine years (for most of them) together. The highlight of the evening was Cade's speech at graduation which brought many to tears wherein he thanked Chad and me for our support and love. I love that so many people saw the Cade that Chad and I know so well; the young man that we know to be so kind, loving and well-spoken. After the graduation mass, we all enjoyed a couple hours of visiting, eating, dancing, watching the class DVD and enjoying the 8th graders' scrapbooks of their time at St. Paul.
A picture from earlier in the day after their last day of school...
A few of my favorite pages from Cade's scrapbook. I love the quotes he picked for his title page as well as his write-ups...
Cade's speech which he only partially used. He never once looked at it but used it as a general outline. His final speech and his delivery was just great and so heartfelt and, in the words of a couple parents I spoke with, "It blew me away."
The St. Paul school jog-a-thon, held every year in early June, has been the cause of much stress (Cade in his early years), competitiveness (all of our kids have had the most laps in their class at least once and Cade had the most in the school several years) and drama (Cade's disqualification one year!). This year was the last with all four of our kids participating, with Cade moving on to high school last year, and it was mostly all just about FUN (yay!)! Our three oldest kids walked and jogged it, not wanting to be sore for their tournament the next day (plus I think they are just too cool for it anyhow!) Genevieve did the 15 minute version of the event where the preschoolers and Pre-K's ran with all the other classes cheering them on. Nev has a blast! She ran the whole time, lapping most of the other kids and getting the most laps overall. I ran with her and she loved all the cheering and loved running. At one point, after running for over ten minutes, she said, "This is SO much fun! I love running!" Nev ran six laps in just under 15 minutes!
Another 3v3 tournament and a third win for Willem's team! Gabrielle once again had lots of fun with her good friends and got a couple wins and a couple losses. Pascal's team which Cade joined at the last minute lost in the finals the to a team filled with Boca Blacks. It was a sunny, fun day with lots of family including a visit by Amber and kids!
Welcome! We, Chad and Leticia, have been married 20 years and have four awesome kids ~ Cade (15.5), Gabrielle (14), Willem (11.5) and Genevieve (6). We hope you enjoy this glimpse into our busy, fun, sports-filled and blessed lives. We intend for this to serve as our family scrapbook and we hope you enjoy following along!
